I’d love my dad to be at my Christmas lunch. This will be my first Christmas without him after he passed away in April 2012, aged 85, after 19 years with dementia. It would be like the Christmases of my childhood, with dad bringing in fresh veggies from the garden on Christmas morning and mum cooking roast beef and Yorkshire puddings.
Most importantly of all, it would mean my dad would get to meet the lovely man who has made my life happy again. If I could have one more request, it would be that my boyfriend’s family would join us for Christmas, all the way from South Africa (although not sure why you would swap hot SA for cold England!). It would be a big family Christmas with my dad at the head of the table – something I will only ever be able to dream about now.Thank you very much Beth Britton, d4dementia.blogspot.co.uk
